After deciding that he was unemployable by anyone but himself, Matt Rhodes decided to start MTR Metals in January of 1993 and has continued to navigate the ups and downs of what is probably the least predictable, and at times the most maddening industry known to mankind. Time after time, he was told of the importance of a higher education. Did he listen? 35 years experience in the steel business should be answer enough to that question. Matt is also father of 4, married for the past 20 years to woman he clearly does not deserve, and spends his off time writing music and playing in The Hurtin’ Kind, a Chicago based rock and roll band.
